At Creative Energy Shop, every mala I create is more than just a necklace—it’s a spiritual tool, infused with energy, intention, and a unique story waiting to unfold. The process of making each mala is sacred to me, from the moment I envision it to the final blessing before it finds its new home.
I believe that malas hold the power to guide, heal, and inspire. They come into people’s lives when they need them most, serving as reminders of strength, transformation, and self-discovery. That’s why I pour so much heart and soul into each one, ensuring it resonates with its true owner when the time is right.
What is a Mala?
A mala is a string of beads traditionally used in meditation, prayer, and mantra repetition (japa). Rooted in ancient spiritual practices, malas help focus the mind, deepen meditation, and serve as reminders of one’s intentions.
Why 108 Beads? The Sacred Meaning Behind the Number
Traditional malas contain 108 beads, a number that holds deep spiritual significance across different traditions:
• Hinduism & Buddhism – 108 is considered a sacred number representing spiritual wholeness and the connection between the universe and the self.
• The 108 Energy Channels – In yogic tradition, there are 108 nadis (energy pathways) that converge at the heart chakra, making malas powerful tools for energetic alignment.
• Astronomical & Mathematical Meaning – The distance between the Sun and Earth is about 108 times the Sun’s diameter, and the same ratio applies to the Moon and Earth. This cosmic connection symbolizes the interwoven nature of all things.
• Mantra Repetition – In mantra meditation, reciting a phrase or affirmation 108 times is believed to activate its full energetic potential.
Some malas also include a Guru Bead, marking the end of a cycle and serving as a point of reflection before starting again.
The Creation Process: Hand-Knotted with Intention
Unlike traditional malas that always feature a tassel, I create modernized malas—meaning that instead of a handmade tassel, I use a carefully chosen pendant gemstone to solidify the story and meaning of that specific piece. Every mala is hand-knotted, but my process goes beyond craftsmanship—it is a meditation in itself.
As I hand-knot each bead, I speak an affirmation, mantra, or prayer into the mala, sealing each knot with a sacred intention. This creates a powerful energetic thread that runs through the entire piece. The mantra I choose depends on the energies of the stones and the purpose I feel the mala will serve.
For example:
• If I’m working with Moonstone and Rosewood, I may recite a mantra for balance and inner peace.
• If I’m creating a mala with Black Tourmaline and Smoky Quartz, I might whisper protection and grounding affirmations as I knot.
Each mala is a labor of love, patience, and spiritual connection—woven with energy meant to uplift and guide its wearer.
The Vision Behind Each Mala
I don’t just create malas; I receive them in visions and dreams. I keep a journal where I write down images, symbols, and feelings that come to me, showing me which gemstones should be used and what kind of energy the mala will hold. I never know who each mala is meant for until they find me, but every single one I’ve created has found its rightful owner at exactly the right moment in their life.
This has been one of the most fulfilling and life-changing parts of my journey. Seeing someone connect with a mala, knowing it was meant for them, is an experience that never loses its magic.

The Cleansing Ritual: Preparing Your Mala for Its Journey
Before sending a mala out into the world, I perform a cleansing and blessing ritual to ensure it arrives energetically clear and ready to align with its new owner. This includes:
1. Smoke Cleansing with Sage & Palo Santo – This clears away any lingering energy and infuses the mala with pure, positive vibrations.
2. Sound Healing with Singing Bowls – The frequency of the bowls recalibrates the mala’s energy, filling it with harmony and light.
3. Moonlight & Crystal Charging – Depending on the mala’s purpose, I may place it under the moonlight or near selenite and clear quartz to amplify its power.
4. Final Intention Setting – Before packaging, I hold the mala and set an intention for its future owner, sending blessings of strength, clarity, and peace.

I’ve seen bunches of your amazing malas but I have to admit, I could never really understand what they were for or the full process of what you put into them. After reading this, I feel like I do a little more now! 😊 So informative and now I’m going to wait and see if one of your malas call to me now lol. It was really cool to see how much love, intent, and time you put into each mala too!
